Mission

To Provide Aerospace Leadership for the Future

The ASME Aerospace Division's objective is to promote the development and dissemination of the mechanical, materials and systems engineering aspects of aircraft, spacecraft and missile design and operation. This encompasses primary and secondary subsystems and components as well as the vehicles themselves and necessary life support equipment.

The Division also emphasizes the inter-relationship between technology and society and the more effective transfer of its inherently advanced technology to other segments of the economy.

The Division functions primarily through the organization and sponsorship of Technical Conferences and Publications. The Division also recognizes outstanding individual technical contributions to the profession by means of an Honors & Awards program.

In addition, the Division supports ASME's Government Relations activities by providing expert opinion to State and Federal governments through public policy statements to help influence technology innovation in aerospace.

Honors & Awards

Aerospace Division members solicit, initiate, review and submit recommendations for ASME honors and awards to recognize outstanding individual technical contributions to the industry. The Division participates or sponsors up to eight(8) awards per year.
