Welcome Back!

The ability to interact with ASME instructors who bring real world experience, examples, and best practices to life in our learning experiences is a major reason learners choose face to face training. Networking with peers is also a valuable part of the time spent together during a course. We are excited to start offering these important courses again in person.

Schedule: This course commences at 8:30 AM and ends at 5:30 PM local time, each day, with breaks scheduled throughout.

June Session: This course will be held at the InterContinental New Orleans at our ASME Live Event.  Please visit this site to learn more about the courses and activities that we are offering at this new program.

This course introduces the design, application and operation of centrifugal, reciprocating and rotary pumps. It emphasizes practical understanding, design guidelines and "rules of thumb" with a minimum of mathematics intended for pump users. It covers application and sizing, system design, basic theory and operation, different types of pumps, pump components, pump auxiliaries, pump selection and specifications.

By participating in this course, you will learn how to successfully:

  • Evaluate pump types, components, and drive system configurations to determine the optimum selection for the specific industrial application.
  • Integrate pump theory, cavitation principles, and NPSH analysis to develop system solutions that address operational challenges.
  • Interpret and apply pump curves, selection charts, and predictive maintenance data to optimize system performance and reliability.
  • Appraise and compare real-world examples of pump selection and purchasing decisions to derive best practices for future applications.

Who should attend?

This course is technical, but introductory in nature, and covers all aspects of the pump industry. It provides specific technical training for Mechanical Engineers, Process Engineers and Operation personnel involved in the selection, procurement and operation of process pumps. It also provides an excellent overview/refresher/general technical training course suitable for Project Engineers, Managers, Procurement Specialists, Technical Sales staff and students.

Course Materials (included in purchase of course)

  • Digital course notes via ASME s Learning Hub

Course participants are expected to have:

  • Internet connection, computer

A Certificate of Completion will be issued to registrants who successfully complete the course.
