ASME Seeking Insights on the Biotechnology and Biomanufacturing Workforce

ASME Seeking Insights on the Biotechnology and Biomanufacturing Workforce

The White House recently released a new Executive Order that mandates the drafting of an inter-agency report on how to strengthen the Biotechnology and Biomanufacturing Workforce. ASME would like to support the work of the Executive Order and help in identifying solutions-focused ideas around new efforts to promote multi-disciplinary education programs (see Section 7 of the EO).

This includes:
  • Implementation of formal and informal education and training (i.e. certificate programs, technical colleges);
  • Expanded career pathways into existing degree programs for biotechnology and biomanufacturing;
  • Government support and engagement to cultivate a fortified Biotechnology and Biomanufacturing sector; and
  • A focused discussion of HBCUS, Tribal Colleges, and MSIs and the roles they can play
We are gathering feedback on the current Biotechnology and Biomanufacturing Workforce climate and training on institutional campuses, within industry, and other relevant stakeholders. If you are interested in providing feedback, please fill out the survey here at this link: https://forms.gle/WEawAMYqAj7Gqus37
