2026 National Strategic Plan for Advanced Manufacturing Request for Information

2026 National Strategic Plan for Advanced Manufacturing Request for Information

The White House Office of Science and Technology Policy (OSTP) has released a Request for Information (RFI) to inform the development of the 2026 National Strategic Plan for Advanced Manufacturing. The RFI seeks public input on key challenges, priorities, and opportunities related to U.S. manufacturing innovation, competitiveness, workforce development, and supply chain resilience. ASME members are encouraged to share their expertise to help shape a policy framework that reflects the current and future needs of the advanced manufacturing sector.

The RFI includes twelve questions addressing areas such as emerging technologies, public-private partnerships, sustainability, and strategies for accelerating the translation of research into practice. Responses will help the federal government identify critical research priorities, workforce trends, and policy approaches that can strengthen the national manufacturing ecosystem. ASME believes that member input will be especially valuable in guiding evidence-based strategies for innovation and implementation.

We invite all ASME members to review the RFI and submit their feedback by the September 30, 2025 deadline. To facilitate participation, ASME has created a simple response form where members can share their perspectives directly. Your contributions will help ensure that engineering voices are well represented in this national conversation.
