Diversity Month 2023
Since 2004, April has been designated as Diversity Month, and I would like to take this opportunity to emphasize the importance of diversity and inclusion within our company and the broader business community. At ASME, diversity is a fundamental part of our core values, and we believe that it is essential to our culture and continued success. Our goal is to create a workplace that is inclusive, supportive, and welcoming for all, and diversity is central to achieving this.

We value the unique perspectives and experiences that every individual brings to the table and we recognize that diverse ideas and points of view are essential for innovation, creativity, and problem-solving. By building a diverse workforce, membership, and volunteer culture of inclusion, we can create a more resilient organization that is better equipped to adapt to change and thrive in a rapidly evolving world.

We have implemented several initiatives to promote diversity and inclusion within our organization, including employee resource groups, training, and development programs, as well as partnerships with like-minded organizations. We are committed to holding ourselves accountable by setting goals for increasing the diversity of our workforce and leadership team, and by regularly tracking our progress towards these goals.

Although we have made progress, we acknowledge that our journey towards true diversity, equity, and inclusion is ongoing. We remain committed to learning, growing, and improving in this area.

As stakeholders, you play a critical role in our efforts to promote diversity and inclusion within ASME and to the engineering community. We encourage your involvement and want to make sure your voice is heard. Together, we can create an environment that is accepting and empowering for everyone.
