Giving Tuesday Campaign Aims to INSPIRE

Nov. 18, 2016

The ASME Foundation has set a sizeable goal for its INSPIRE program this year: engaging 1,000 schools. It’s an audacious reach for the award-winning K-12 STEM education program and Giving Tuesday on Nov. 29 provides a timely springboard to launch this exciting effort.

Giving Tuesday — the first Tuesday following the Thanksgiving Holiday — has emerged globally as a day to take part in charitable endeavors and support meaningful initiatives and causes that have impact. ASME’s STEM education programs do just that. Through creative, compelling, fun content and interaction, they illuminate the endless possibilities when boys and girls are challenged to think like an engineer and be problem-solvers. The ASME INSPIRE digital course for course for middle- and high-school students is a cornerstone of this effort. INSPIRE’s robust mix of online simulations, use of coding and algebra skills, and celebration of engineering career fields has reached more than 50,000 middle and high school students in more than 700 schools across the United States in its first two years.

Join the ASME Foundation donor community on Giving Tuesday and contribute to the nurturing of the people and ideas that will fuel the next generation of engineering champions. To participate, visit Go.ASME.org/GivingTuesday on Tuesday, Nov. 29, to make a contribution to the ASME Foundation.
