13th ASME/NRC Pump & Valve Symposium

The American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME) and the U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) are jointly sponsoring the 13th Pump & Valve Symposium July 16-19, 2017, in Silver Spring, Maryland, at the DoubleTree by Hilton Washington DC - Silver Spring.

The 2017 Pump & Valve Symposium (P&V) will cover the latest issues, technology, developments and research in the pre-service and in-service testing of nuclear power plants and components. Pre-service and in-service testing is essential in ensuring that nuclear power plants are operating safely and their readiness for safe shutdown. The field is rapidly changing. The symposium will cover important topics in pre-service and in-service testing from the perspective of industry best practices and ASME codes.

This P&V will feature leaders in nuclear energy, including: Southern Nuclear Co., Duke Energy, Exelon Corp., Tennessee Valley Authority, Westinghouse Electric, NuScale, EPRI, Sandia National Laboratories, KINS, Flowserve, Curtiss Wright, and Kalsi Engineering.

Ross Lee

Ms. Ross Lee

Ms. Ross-Lee joined the NRC in 1997 as a nuclear engineer in the Office of Nuclear Material Safety and Safeguards (NMSS). Since joining the NRC, she has worked in a number of offices within the agency including the Office of Nuclear Reactor Regulation (NRR), Office of New Reactors (NRO), and Office of Administration (ADM). In 2011, Ms. Ross-Lee was appointed to the Senior Executive Service. She currently serves as the Deputy Director for Division of Engineering (NRR). Ms. Ross-Lee received a Bachelor's degree in Nuclear Engineering from Penn State University and a Master's of Business Administration from the University of Portland, Oregon.
