ASME / U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission Pump and Valve Symposium

On July 16-19, 2017, ASME and the United States Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) will host the 13th annual Pump and Valve (P&V) Symposium in Silver Spring, Maryland. The symposium will cover the latest issues, technology, developments and trends in pre-service and in-service testing of nuclear power plants. The P&V Symposium will examine issues from the perspective of the ASME Operation and Maintenance of Nuclear Power Plants (O&M) Code and industry best practices. In addition, ASME O&M standards development volunteers and U.S. NRC representatives will hold opening and closing plenary sessions concerning power plant operation and maintenance.

ASME is currently accepting abstracts for the symposium paper sessions showcasing organization research and capabilities in the following topics

  • New reactors
  • ASME O&M  scope and general requirements
  • In-service testing of pumps
  • In-service testing of motor operated valves (MOVs) and air-operated valves
  • In-service testing of valves
  • In-service testing of snubbers
  • Risk insights activities
