Podcast: From Student to Entrepreneur

Building a company from the ground up while at college doesn't come without challenges. Allison Sawyer, CEO and co-founder of Rebellion Photonics—a hi-tech startup that has invented snapshot hyperspectral imaging technology used for real-time chemical imaging for industries such as safety, security, and biological research—gives tips on how to handle those challenges and shares lessons she learnt on her journey from a student to entrepreneur.

Sawyer was recently featured as one of Inc. magazine's 30 under 30 America's Coolest Young Entrepreneurs of 2012. Sawyer has an MBA from Rice University and an MSc in Nanoscale Physics from Leeds University (England). Before Rebellion Photonics, Sawyer worked under Tom Kraft at the Houston Technology Center, the region's largest technology start-up incubator.
