Turning Engineering Expertise into Global Impact
ASME's Course Builder Program: Transforming Industry Expertise into Global Impact
Whether you’re an engineer with years of real-world experience or an educator with a ready-built course, the ASME Course Builder program empowers professionals to share their knowledge with a worldwide audience. Our platform provides a structured pathway to design new material or translate an existing course into an accredited ASME On Demand offering.
The program was created in response to learner demand for practice-based education. “We take very seriously the voice of our customers,” says Mair DeMarco, Director of Learning Experience and Excellence. “Learners want to hear real-world examples — what worked and didn’t work. They want to be able to apply knowledge from the course into practice right away.”
Transform Expertise into Education
Engineers with five or more years of industry experience can partner with ASME in two ways to launch a course:
First-Time Course Developers-
Experienced engineers can leverage ASME's comprehensive toolkit which guides instructors through each step of course design, from defining the topic and assembling course materials to testing a prototype and utilizing ongoing post-launch improvement tools. “We put a lot of care into building our interactive toolkit to help educators get up and running with a course,” says DeMarco.
Established Educators-
Training organizations and educators with existing courses can partner with ASME to adapt and publish their content as an ASME On Demand course. The partnership provides accreditation, marketing, and access to a global audience of learners who value high-quality training.

Amplify Impact through ASME Partnership
Experienced engineers can leverage their insights to foster a community of learners, earning recognition for their contributions while advancing the profession. Key benefits of the program include:
- Professional recognition: Instructors gain the prestige of working with a well-respected organization and are awarded a digital badge which shows off their good work.
- Royalty earnings: ASME works closely with instructors and training organizations to ensure royalties are distributed fairly.
- Networking opportunities: As part of the Course Builder platform, educators get to join and engage with ASME’s community of industry leading professionals.
- Global reach: On Demand video-based courses include captions, and cover content relevant to engineers around the globe looking to train under top-ranking professors.
- Leave a legacy: Industry leaders transform their expertise into legacy through teaching the next generation.
What Success Looks Like: How Partnership Filled The Gap
Taking inventory of our offerings, our team saw a gap when it came to sustainability. According to Mair Demarco, “We didn’t have Hydrogen in our course catalog, so we partnered with Arveng Training & Engineering to launch a B31.12 Hydrogen course.” This partnership led to what is now quickly becoming one of our most popular courses, thanks to ASME’s quick response to consumer demand, and a mutually beneficial working relationship.
