ASME Expands Its Boiler and Pressure Vessel Product Offerings

ASME Standards & Certification (S&C) have expanded their Boiler and Pressure Vessel (BPV) product portfolio to aid standards users and industry. In the latest expansion, ASME has developed compilations of cases aligned to specific sections of the BPV Code. A case may provide alternate rules not covered by existing rules. When used, cases prescribe rules in the same sense as the text of the standard; however, user’s are cautioned that not all jurisdictions, owners or contracts automatically accept cases.

These compilations include all associated BPV cases through Supplement 4 of the 2019 Edition of BPV case supplements. Compilations are offered for the following sections, Section I, “Power Boilers”; Section IV, “Heating Boilers”; Section VIII, Divisions 1, 2, and 3 “Pressure Vessels”; Section III, Divisions 1, 2, 3, and 5 “Construction of Nuclear Facility Components”; and Section XI, Divisions 1 and 2 “Rules for Inservice Inspection of Nuclear Power Plant Components”. Each compilation provides a streamlined and cost-effective resource for users whose customers and operations rely on a single BPV section.
