(b) systems that are a critical part of product manufacture [e.g., water-for-injection (WFI), clean steam, filtration, and intermediate product storage]

B31.8 – 2014 Gas Transmission and Distribution Piping Systems

This Standard covers the design, fabrication, installation, inspection, and testing of pipeline facilities used for the transportation of gas. This Standard also covers safety aspects of the operation and maintenance of those facilities.
This Standard is concerned only with certain safety aspects of liquefied petroleum gases when they are vaporized and used as gaseous fuels. All of the requirements of NFPA 58 and NFPA 59 and of this Standard concerning design, construction, and operation and maintenance of piping facilities shall apply to piping systems handling butane, propane, or mixtures of these gases.

B31.8S – 2014 Managing System Integrity of Gas Pipelines

This Standard applies to onshore pipeline systems constructed with ferrous materials and that transport gas. The principles and processes embodied in integrity management are applicable to all pipeline systems.
This Standard is specifically designed to provide the operator with the information necessary to develop and implement an effective integrity management program utilizing proven industry practices and processes. The processes and approaches described within this Standard are applicable to the entire pipeline.

A18.1 – 2014 Safety Standard for Platform Lifts and Stairway Chairlifts

This safety Standard covers the design, construction, installation, operation, inspection, testing, maintenance, and repair of inclined stairway chairlifts and inclined and vertical platform lifts intended for transportation of a mobility impaired person only. The device shall have a limited vertical travel, operating speed, and platform area. Operation shall be under continuous control of the user/attendant.

B31.1 – 2014 Power Piping

This Standard prescribes requirements for the design, materials, fabrication, erection, test, inspection, operation, and maintenance of piping systems.
Piping as used in this Standard includes pipe, flanges, bolting, gaskets, valves, pressure-relieving valves/ devices, fittings, and the pressure containing portions of other piping components, whether manufactured in accordance with Standards listed or specially designed. It also includes hangers and supports and other equipment items necessary to prevent overstressing the pressure containing components.

Y14.35 – 2014 Revision of Engineering Drawings and Associated Documents

This Standard defines the practices for revising drawings and associated documents and establishes methods for identification and recording revisions. The revision practices of this Standard apply to any form of original drawing and associated documents. It is essential that this Standard be used in close conjunction with ASME Y14.24, ASME Y14.34, ASME Y14.41, and ASME Y14.100.

B30.29 - 2012 Self-Erecting Tower Cranes

This standard applies to the construction, operation, inspection, testing and maintenance of powered, self-erect tower cranes, which adjust operating radius by means of a trolley traversing a jib. These may be horizontal, elevated, articulating, or telescoping, used for vertical lifting and lowering of freely suspended, unguided loads which consist of equipment and materials. Self-erect tower cranes have vertical or nearly vertical masts that are bottom slewing and mounted on fixed, traveling, or mobile bases. The cranes are capable of moving or being moved from jobsite to jobsite fully assembled or nearly fully assembled. This volume does not apply to cranes used for non-vertical lifting service or lifting a guided load and truck-mounted material delivery cranes with a tubular boom and trolley traversing the boom. Tower cranes (refer to ASME B30.3) and mobile crane tower attachments (refer to ASME B30.5) are not within the scope of this volume.

B30.3 - 2012 Tower Cranes

This Standard applies to “construction tower cranes” and “permanently mounted tower cranes” that are powered by electric motors or internal combustion engines and that adjust their operating radius by means of a luffing boom mechanism, a trolley traversing a horizontal jib, or a combination of the two. The cranes may be mounted on “fixed bases” or “traveling bases” and may have tower and supporting structure arrangements that permit the crane to climb in a structure being built or that permits’ increasing the crane’s tower height as the structure rises. Variations of the above physical characteristics that provide the same fundamental operating characteristics are included in the scope of this Volume however, the requirements of this Volume are only applicable to the cranes within this scope when they are used in lifting operations. Mobile cranes configured with tower attachments (refer to ASME B30.5) and self-erecting tower cranes (refer to ASME B30.29) are not within the scope of this Volume.

This Standard reflects industry experience and current understanding of the quality assurance requirements necessary to achieve safe, reliable, and efficient utilization of nuclear energy, and management and processing of radioactive materials. The Standard focuses on the achievement of results, emphasizes the role of the individual and line management in the achievement of quality, and fosters the application of these requirements in a manner consistent with the relative importance of the item or activity.

Y14.100 - 2013 Engineering Drawing Practices

This Standard establishes the essential requirements and reference documents applicable to the preparation and revision of manual or computer generated engineering drawings and associated lists unless tailored by a specialty Standard. It is essential that this Standard be used in close conjunction with ASME Y14.24, ASME Y14.34, ASME Y14.35M, and ASME Y14.41. Incorporated into Y14.100-2013 is Y14.42 on Digital Approval Systems.

B89.3.7 - 2013 Granite Surface Plates

This standard covers igneous rock (granite) plates for use in high accuracy locating, layout, and inspection work.  It encompasses new certification, recertification in the field, and recertification after resurfacing.  In general, the standard covers any size granite surface plate. Information for the sizes in common use is presented in tabular form. Concepts such as traceability and measurement uncertainty are also covered.  This standard is a revision of Federal Specification GGG-P-463C: 1973.

B16.5 - 2013 Pipe Flanges and Flanged Fittings: NPS ½ through NPS 24 Metric/Inch Standard

This Standard covers pressure-temperature ratings, materials, dimensions, tolerances, marking, testing, and methods of designating openings for pipe flanges and flanged fittings. Included are: flanges with rating class designations 150, 300, 400, 600, 900, and 1500 in sizes NPS 1/2 through NPS 24 and flanges with rating class designation 2500 in sizes NPS 1/2 through NPS 12, with requirements given in both metric and U.S. Customary units with diameter of bolts and flange bolt holes expressed in inch units; flanged fittings with rating class designation 150 and 300 in sizes NPS 1/2 through NPS 24, with requirements given in both metric and U.S. Customary units with diameter of bolts and flange bolt holes expressed in inch units; and flanged fittings with rating class designation 400, 600, 900, and 1500 in sizes NPS 1/2 through NPS 24 and flanged fittings with rating class designation 2500 in sizes NPS 1/2 through NPS 12 that are acknowledged in Non-Mandatory Appendix E in which only U.S. Customary units are provided.

B31.5 - 2013 Refrigeration Piping and Heat Transfer Components

This Standard covers refrigerant, heat transfer components, and secondary coolant piping for temperatures as low as -320°F (-196°C), whether erected on the premises or factory assembled. Users are advised that other piping Code Sections may provide requirements for refrigeration piping in their respective jurisdictions. This Standard does not apply to any self-contained or unit systems subject to the requirements of Underwriters Laboratories or other nationally recognized testing laboratory. It also does not apply to water piping; piping designed for external or internal gage pressure not exceeding 15 psi (105 kPa) regardless of size; or pressure vessels, compressors, or pumps. However, B31.5 does include all connecting refrigerant and secondary coolant piping starting at the first joint adjacent to such apparatus.
