Print proceedings of the 2017 Design of Medical Devices (DMD) Conference (www.dmd.umn.edu) held April 10-13, 2017 at The Commons Hotel & McNamara Alumni Center on the University of Minnesota campus in Minneapolis, MN. The DMD Conference brings together medical device designers, manufacturers, researchers and representatives from academia and the public sector. The majority of attendees hold positions within non-profit organizations, small start-ups, corporations, academia, as consultants, as students, MDs and PhDs, and within the legal profession.

Each year, this leading international forum invites high quality technical submissions from the academic, clinical and industry medical device community. Papers were accepted in the following technical scientific poster session tracks: Cardiovascular, Computer Modeling and Simulation, MEMS and Nano, Special Devices, Urologic, Human Factors, Informatics, Neuroengineering, Orthopedics, Rehabilitation and Surgical Tools.
