Darryl Brayton is a Professional Engineer (PE) in Control Systems and has been involved in the DOE Complex performing automation and software engineering, and software quality assurance related tasks and projects for the past 35+ years. Mr. Brayton holds a master’s degree in electrical engineering (M.S.E.E) with an emphasis on Computer Integrated Manufacturing.
Mr. Brayton was a DOE-HQ peer-selected participating author for the DOE G 414.1-4 Safety Software Guide published for use with DOE Order 414.1C and D from a control systems perspective (OT—Operational Technology). Mr. Brayton has also created an Agile methodology derivative process referred to as the Vortex method and utilizes Vortex to successfully manage several on-going software application projects within the DOE Complex. Mr. Brayton also holds over 15 patents in related technical fields, including software innovations. In his free time, My. Brayton likes to camp and spend time with his family. Go Zags!!

- Full software life cycle support including conceptual white paper documents, system analysis, systems and software requirements, database design and conversion, prototyping, full acceptance testing, user documentation and training, software lifecycle methodologies (including agile method derivative referred to as ‘Vortex’), and assessments.
- Types of supported projects include both IT and OT, including Microsoft full Technical Stack web-applications, and PLC/HMI and DCS configurable systems including all phases of the SDLC.
- Maintenance support including Software Change Request (SCR)/Data Change Request (DCAF)/configuration management and physical functional audits (CM), in-use/operational tests, website maintenance, review of subcontractor software quality assurance program plans, safety software manuals, and technical documentation support
- Consultant for all levels of SQA work activities, SQA program oversight, SQA training, SQA audit and surveillance preparation and support.
- Configuration management, work system management, review of inbound subcontractor software quality assurance products for adequacy and resolution confirmation
- Implementation of and integration of innovative SQA methods into existing Client SQA plans and procedures
