Dr. Dean Bartles, the founding executive director of DMDII and ASME’s technology development consultant, provides insights into the benefits and challenges of digital manufacturing. Bartles has had a distinguished 38-year career in manufacturing with responsibilities including managing research and development, technology transfer, program management, and manufacturing operations. He recently joined ASME to help execute the society’s technology-based enterprise strategy and grow its impact in strategic markets.
