Computer Aided Design (CAD)

uses computerized calculations and digital graphics to create and manage the points, lines, and surfaces (geometry). Nearly all physical products and tooling are designed this way. To eliminate error-prone tasks, drawing and measurement are automated. Documentation, version management, standards are used; so are animation, dynamics, kinematics, and tools for analysis and simulation. Most CAD is now solid modeling; virtual or digital solids replace geometry elements.
