Description

In recognition of National Engineers Week, the ASME Piedmont Carolina Section is hosting a meeting about ASME Engineering Landmarks featuring Dr. Steve Walton, Associate Professor of History at the Michigan Technological University, as our guest speaker. As we celebrate Engineers’ Week, the Piedmont Carolina Section is fortunate to have Dr. Steve Walton speak to us about ASME Landmarks and tell us what they are and why they are so important. He will touch on the rich history of engineering and the role landmarks play in displaying and preserving that history. He will explain the goals of the ASME History & Heritage Committee and the process used to identify and choose landmarks. There will be examples of significant engineering landmarks, some being within our section boundaries. One goal of the presentation is to raise awareness within the membership so that more landmarks can be identified. Please join us for the discussion.
