Description

UNC Charlotte (UNCC) School of Engineering invites early career engineers and engineering technologists to attend a special program on Additive Manufacturing, including an overview of this ground-breaking technology, and prospects for the future of the industry and those who help shape it. UNCC is a leader in AM research and development with close connections with AM industries throughout the world. The program will be hosted by the UNCC Department of Mechanical Engineering & Engineering Science Department and the American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME) Piedmont-Carolina Section. A tour of the AM laboratories will provide an overview of AM processes, which will allow attendees to see first-hand how the technology is creating a paradigm shift in manufacturing. The tour will then be followed by a panel discussion of leading industry experts, who will provide insight into how the technology is being used, new horizons in AM and inside tips on how to be a part of it. Following the program, students, early career engineers and engineering technologists will be invited as guests of ASME Piedmont-Carolina Section for dinner along with AM industry experts, UNCC faculty and others in celebration of National Engineers Week. Others are welcome to join us for dinner as well at a reduced price of $10 per person.
