ASME Philadelphia presents the first presentation in their seminar series on Clean Reliable Modern Energy! Offshore Wind (OSW) is now playing a key part on the energy transition towards a lower carbon future. The Biden administration is committed to doubling offshore wind capacity, with many projects that will generate opportunities for US companies. Such projects will require efficient transportation and installation solutions. This presentation will give an overview of the OSW market and opportunities; discuss foundations used for offshore wind turbines and expand on Feeder and Wind Turbine Installation Vessels Solutions. Alberto Morandi Ph.D, PE, CEng is the general manager at GUSTOMSC, pioneers of offshore engineering providing design and engineering consultancy for mobile offshore units. He specializes in with reliability of marine structures. He holds several distinguished positions and is a recipient of awards from SNAME and the Houston Offshore Technology Center.
