Description

Join the ASME Mid-Continent Section on November 10th, 2022 at 11:30 AM in the atrium of the OSU Tulsa Campus Helmerich Research Center (HRC) for an Awards Ceremony and Luncheon to celebrate the winners of 2nd ASME Mid-Continent Section Graduate and Undergraduate Technical Innovation Award for the year 2021/2022. Bipin Kafle, from Oklahoma State University and Keldon Anderson, from the University of Tulsa won the award within Graduate student nominations. Bipin’s abstract topic was on “Digitized water treatment using membrane distillation” and Keldon’s on “Creation of liquid droplet erosion testing facility”. Ben Roper from Oklahoma State University won the Undergraduate Technical Innovation Award. Ben’s project proposed a design for the “Roper Wave Pumper”. This will be followed by our Monthly Seminar Series (hybrid option: in person with Zoom link provided) starting at 12PM to 1PM. Mark A. Lobo, P.E. will be presenting “Product Engineering for Mutually Exclusive Requirements” with an interesting approach to problem solving even when faced with requirements that seem mutually exclusive. Mark will cover a case study that highlights this approach on a severe service control valve specification for the ESP industry.
