Description

Join ASME Atlanta and the Fernbank Science Center for Head to the Sky an Engineers Week and Black History Month Event! Head to the Sky is a series of stories about African American Pioneers in the Space Program that made it possible for current and future scientists to reach for the stars. The program was developed in 2019 by Fernbank’s former Coordinator and Assistant Director, Joyce Gamble a 40-year African American STEM Educator from the Dekalb County school system. Joyce wanted a production to both educate and entertain planetarium audiences during Black History month. This presentation will be followed up by a Planetarium Sky show on their new state of the art dual laser projection system by Scott Harris, Planetarium Geologist. Join us for this free event!
