ASME Anthracite-Lehigh Valley Section: Networking Event & Tour of the NB Center for American Automotive Heritage

Join the Anthracite-Lehigh Valley Section of ASME and the Lehigh Valley Section of SAE International for a networking event and tour of The NB Center for American Automotive Heritage in Allentown, PA, at 5:00 PM on November 1st, 2022. The NB Center for American Automotive Heritage is dedicated to preserving America’s automotive history and heritage through its collections and commitments to craftsmanship, education, and outreach. It is a hub of excellence in the areas of restoration, preservation, and good stewardship of historical vehicles. The NB Center is located on 27 acres in east Allentown, Pennsylvania (on the site of the former Boulevard Drive-In Theater) which hosted the 50th Anniversary Celebration of the Buick Club of America in 2016. The campus houses over 150 antique and classic American automobiles, primarily focused on: the middle market cars made between the 1920’s and the 1960’s; restoration shops with experienced craftsmen training interns and apprentices; and a dedicated track for the ready to-be-driven collection. The NB Center collection of automobiles is also shared with enthusiasts at public car shows and events, as well as by loan to various institutions. This is a walking tour, as The NB Center welcome area, car collection, and three shops are housed in numerous buildings (not a single building), so guests should be prepared for walking. All buildings are handicap accessible and there are golf carts to offer rides to those who need it. Please allow 2-1/2 to 3 hours for the tour. Dinner will be provided at 5:00 PM in the form of Primo Hoagies and assorted beverages. Registration is required.
