ASME Seeks Comments on Standards Needs for Additive Manufacturing Surface Roughness

ASME is conducting a survey to help identify and assess the need for guidance and/or standards for surface roughness in additive manufacturing. The survey is being administered by the B46 Committee on Classification and Designation of Surface Qualities which formed a group to analyze the industrial issues in additive manufacturing. The survey is intended to gather insights and experiences related to surface texture, surface roughness, waviness and lay use in the additive manufacturing field and usage of ASME B46.1 standard. ASME has been working with other standards development organizations, National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) and the American National Standards Institute (ANSI), to coordinate and collaborate in the field of additive manufacturing and to identify areas not currently being addressed.

The survey is free and open to all. Participate in the survey. For more information, contact Remington Richmond (+ 1.212.591.8404)
