New Book On Energy And Power Generation Available From ASME

NEW YORK, Aug. 5, 2011 – ASME has published Energy and Power Generation Handbook, a compendium of 32 articles and textbook chapters reflecting the latest expert opinions on the production and use of energy around the world.

Subtitled “Established and Emerging Technologies,” the new handbook covers power generation from all known energy sources, including solar, wind, hydropower, tidal and wave power, bio-fuels, geothermal, fossil fuel, and nuclear energy.  Chapters are also devoted to nanotechnology and the role of the National Aeronautics and Space Administration in photovoltaic and wind energy.

“This book is meant to cover the conventional technical discussion relating to energy sources,” says the editor, K.R. Rao, Ph.D.   “The contributors portray a futuristic perspective in their depictions and consider the ramifications of the political climate.”

Aimed at a wide audience including researchers, practicing engineers, economists, and advocacy planners, Energy and Power Generation Handbook contains nearly 700 pages and some 1,250 references.  The comprehensive resource book also includes more than 750 figures, tables and illustrations and biographies of the authors, who represent Siemens Energy, Electric Power Research Institute, Babcock & Wilcox, Indian Institute of Technology, and other leading organizations.
