Delhi Technological University Wows in Human Powered Vehicle Competition, Winning Four of Six First-Place Awards in the 1st ever E-Fest sponsored by The American Society of Mechanical Society, ASME

Vellore Institute of Technology and B.H. Gardi College of Engineering & Technology are the Other Winners

NEW YORK, March 10, 2017 – Delhi Technological University, Vellore Institute of Technology, and B.H. Gardi College of Engineering & Technology performed impressively at the Human Powered Vehicle Competition held last week at the ASME E-Fest Asia Pacific in Jaipur, India  https://efests.asme.org/. Delhi led a field of 41 entrants to win the four first-place honors bestowed by the competition sponsor, The American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME). www.asme.org

Delhi came away from the competition with four of the six awards, winning for best overall entry and best design.  Delhi’s vehicle also won top honors in categories for women’s speed and men’s speed.

Human powered vehicles are sleek pedal powered “super bikes” that challenge college engineering students to apply sound engineering principles in the design and fabrication of wheeled vehicles that must compete in speed, endurance and other tests.

Vellore Institute of Technology and B.H. Gardi College of Engineering & Technology won for innovation and endurance, respectively.  The HPVC was held March 4-5, at LNM Institute of Information Technology.

LNMITT was the proud host of ASME’s inaugural E-Fest, one of three multi-day events that allow engineering students to showcase their technical skills while connecting them to thought leaders and practicing engineers for career advice and guidance.
