DFMLC Young Investigator Award

Achievement: To recognize an outstanding young investigator who is making noteworthy contributions in the area of Design for Manufacturing and the Life Cycle
Limitations: At the time of nomination, nominees working in industry, national laboratories, or non–tenure-track academic positions must be within eight years of receiving their first Ph.D. Nominees in tenure-track positions must be pre-tenure.

Nominators are not allowed to nominate current students or postdocs. 

Self-nominations are discouraged.

Form of Award: Plaque awarded at the TC meeting at the annual conference.
Frequency of Award: Annual (one award)
Administrative: Design Engineering Division – Design for Manufacturing and the Life Cycle Conference (DFMLC).
Level of Award: Section
Selected By: Mechanisms and Robotics Honors and Awards Subcommittee.
Selecting Process:

Review of nomination package (a 1-page nomination letter, candidate curriculum vitae, two letters of recommendation, and optional additional supporting documents if desired by the nominator) followed by TC majority voting.

Candidates do not have to be members of ASME but should have an active history in DFMLC; e.g., chairing sessions, reviewing, submitting papers or presentations, etc.

Nomination letters should talk specifically about past DFMLC conference participation
