Introducing ASME’s Community Engagement Center

ASME’s new Community Engagement Center is an online destination to help you find ways to get involved with ASME.
Whether you are a seasoned professional, an engineering student, or somewhere in between, volunteering or serving as an external contributor with ASME can help you move ahead in your profession while getting the satisfaction of supporting ASME’s mission of advancing engineering for the benefit of humanity.

ASME serves a wide-ranging technical community through quality programs in continuing education, training and professional development, codes and standards, research, conferences and publications, government relations, and other forms of outreach. ASME cannot accomplish its mission without the expertise of engineers from around the world. You can share and expand your expertise by volunteering with ASME.

The Community Engagement Center provides a listing of all different types of volunteer and external contributor opportunities, from one-time and short-term roles to standing positions in ASME’s leadership structure. You can search and filter available opportunities by the type of role, the time commitment, and the location, virtual or in-person. You will find a variety of flexible and meaningful ways to get involved, and you can apply for them right on the site. The types of opportunities you might find include speaking as part of ASME’s K-12 outreach programs, being part of a research team that suggests new sustainability standards, or serving as a mentor to an emerging volunteer leader, among others. There’s also a form you can complete to register your interest in getting involved if you don’t see an opportunity that suits you listed. No matter how small, your contributions will make a big impact with ASME!
