Quiz: Atypical Transit
Moving people from one place to another doesn't have to mean relying on a simple bus or train.
Public transit systems often take on a unique form depending on the city. In San Francisco, the classic cable car has become a tourist trap, but is a reminder of traveling up and down the city's steep slopes. Across Europe, extensive train systems connect passengers to dozens of countries. In Japan, bullet trains zip by at astonishing speeds. And in New York, the subway moves residents and tourists alike through an underground maze of tunnels.

But there are other modes of public transportation that are quite different from these staples. They still connect passengers to new locations, but do so in quite an unconventional way. See what you know about atypical public transit systems with this ASME quiz.
