Once upon a time, engineers sat in massive rooms outfitted with enormous drafting tables, scratching away at technical drawings that would eventually become a built product. Some of the largest hand-drawn technical drawings were as long as 50 feet. But much like the slide ruler, the tools that engineers once used to create these complex schematics are now antiques, relegated to the dark corners of garages and attics.
