James Stevens, PhD, P.E.

James W. Stevens, PhD, P.E., is an engineering consultant and retired Professor of Mechanical Engineering with over three decades of experience in higher education, research, and applied engineering practice.  He served as a tenured professor and department chair at the University of Colorado, Colorado Springs, with a prior faculty appointment at Mississippi State University.  He has conducted research for organizations including Argonne National Laboratory, DARPA, the U.S. Army Space Command, and the National Science Foundation.  

A registered Professional Engineer and longtime ASME member, Dr. Stevens brings deep expertise in thermodynamics, heat transfer, energy systems, fluids, and engineering design.  His background includes multiple peer-reviewed publications, funded research, and award winning teaching.
