Video: 2016 ISHOW India Winner, Bempu Hypothermia Alert Device

The Benmpu Hypothermia Monitoring Device is designed to save the lives of newborns in developing regions. It is a simple, low-cost bracelet that monitors a baby’s temperature. At the first sign of hypothermia, the device sounds an alarm and blinks an orange light. These are signals to the mother, to warm the baby by holding him against her skin. Bempu Health has received funding from the Gates Foundation, Grand Challenges Canada and USAID. Here, Ratul Narain presents to ISHOW judges as Virginia Morgan looks on.
