ASME Training & Development to Offer Two Spanish-Language Courses in Miami

ASME Training & Development will present two new ASME Standards Public Courses in Spanish this October in Miami. The courses will be offered from Oct. 12-16 at the Miami Marriott Dadeland.

ASME training programs are developed and delivered by Society-approved instructors who are experts within their professional disciplines. Each of the courses will be presented by ASME Code Committee members who understand and can communicate Code or Standard relevance and their impact on safety, quality and integrity.

One of the two Spanish-language courses being offered in MIami, “Código ASME de Calderas y Recipientes a Presión: Sección VIII, División 1 y Inspección, Reparación y Alteraciones” (known in English as “BPV Code, Section VIII, Division 1: Combo Course”), combines the courses “BPV Code, Section VIII, Division 1: Design & Fabrication of Pressure Vessels” and “Inspection, Repairs, and Alterations of Pressure Equipment.” Participants will learn how to describe the background of the Code; explain how to apply the Code rules to more common design and fabrication situations; identify the calculations for some of the loadings and situations not addressed by the Code; describe the preparation of design specifications, design reports, data reports, and other documentation; explain the responsibilities of the users, manufacturers, repair organizations, regulatory agencies and authorized inspectors; and much more. "Código ASME de Calderas y Recipientes a Presión: Sección VIII, División 1 y Inspección, Reparación y Alteraciones" ("BPV Code, Section IX: Welding, Brazing, and Fusing Qualifications") is a basic course that trains participants to comply with the requirements of ASME Section IX. Participants will gain a working knowledge of ASME Section IX, and be provided with a review of the welding processes and variables, as well as a review of basic welding metallurgy. This background knowledge is essential for one to interpret and apply Section IX effectively.
