Special Journal Issue to Focus on Concentrated Solar Chemistry, Fuels and Power

Jan. 26, 2018

The ASME Journal of Solar Energy Engineering is currently accepting papers for its upcoming “Special Issue on Concentrated Solar Chemistry, Fuels and Power.” The special issue, which is being organized by the ASME Solar Energy Division Executive Committee, will be published in December 2018.

Featuring work that will be presented at the 2018 ASME Energy Sustainability Conference, the special issue is intended to recognize and highlight innovative technologies, research and design advances, and solutions in the field of concentrated solar energy that promote sustainability — as well as serve as a record of the current state of R&D in concentrated chemistry, fuels and solar power.

The special issue will cover a range of topics, including state of the art solar receiver and reactor designs for power; chemical processing and fuels; advances in materials for solar driven thermal and chemical processes; insightful numerical or experimental results; progress in thermal energy storage; system level and integration analysis; and relevant techno-economic evaluations. The guest editors for the issue, known for their work in concentrated solar power, are Christian Sattler, Ph.D., Technical University of Dresden; Tatsuya Kodama, Ph.D., Niigata University; Ellen Stechel, Ph.D., Arizona State University; and Nathan Siegel, Ph.D., Bucknell University.

Authors who are interested in publishing their work in the special issue must participate in the 2018 Energy Sustainability Conference, which will be held June 24-28 in Lake Buena Vista, Fla. The deadline to submit a presentation-only abstract for the conference is March 30, 2018. If you would like to expand your presentation into a full paper and submit to the Journal of Solar Energy Engineering special issue, please indicate this when you submit your presentation-only abstract. All participants will have until July 28, 2018, to submit their full papers to the journal for the special issue.

To submit a presentation-only abstract for the 2018 Energy Sustainability Conference, visit the http://www.asmeconferences.org/PowerEnergy2018/login.cfm.
