This course presents a qualitative comparison between electrical and hydraulic power transmission and control systems. The course discusses the benefits of merging both the electrical controls with the hydraulic drives in an Electro-hydraulic control system. The course presents several examples of how to convert the classical hydro-mechanical solutions into electro-hydraulic solutions. The core part of the course covers the construction and the principle of operation of the electrohydraulic valves including solenoid operated valves and proportional valves.
You Will Learn To
- Identify the difference in construction, principle of operation and characteristics between ON/OFF valves and proportional valves.
- Build safely operated electrical circuits to drive an On/Off valve to perform various switching control functions.
- Recognize the construction and the features of a proportional valve by symbols.
Course attendees will receive the textbook, Electro-Hydraulic Components and Systems, its accompanying workbook, a one-year free license to use the “Hydraulic Component Sizing Calculator” software, and free, Animated Circuits Files.
