ASME Codes and Standards are the most widely used in the world for the design, operation, maintenance, and repair of power boilers, pressure vessels and nuclear facilities.
This course goes into great depth concerning the content and design requirements of Parts PG and PW of the B&PVC Section I: Rules for Construction of Power Boilers with a series of related calculations, problems and examples. This course has been created to supplement the ASME Course, PD665, "ASME, B&PV Code, Section I: Power Boilers."
Requirements of the Code are illustrated through the use of practical examples pertaining to Parts PG and PW of ASME BPVC, Section I. This course provides methods commonly used across the industry for the evaluation of ASME BPVC, Section I, boiler pressure components.
You Will Learn To
- Identify and use the rules and formulas per the requirements of ASME BPVC, Section I
- Differentiate the parameters used in Section I formulas
- Employ techniques used by the industry to satisfy the requirements of the ASME BPVC Section I in the design of boiler pressure components
Students are required to bring an engineering calculator or a laptop loaded with the appropriate software for the examples, which are performed using classical mechanics and mathematics.
Who Should Attend
ASME QC Managers of fabricators, ASME certificate holders, people who would have an interest in the methodology and examples for the design of pressure components using the ASME B&PVC, Section I. It is recommended that students take the ASME course, Section I: Rules for Construction of Power Boilers (PD665), and/or have the equivalent experience and knowledge of its content.
