Current demands on engineers are rapidly evolving and constantly shifting.  Being a competent engineer is often not enough. While many of today’s engineers possess powerful technical knowledge, they lack the soft skills, including communication and leadership strategies, needed to successfully excel as an individual professional working as part of a cross-functional team.

In this unique Learning Path of relevant topics, maximize you and/or your team’s communication, leadership and interpersonal proficiency and literacy in all workplace situations by learning multi-faceted skills that extend beyond what is typically taught during engineering academic studies or on the job.

This official ASME learning path consists of two courses:
Course 1:  Communicating and Problem Solving for Today’s Engineers

Bridge the communications gap and navigate all business situations more effectively. ASME’s Communicating and Problem Solving for Today’s Engineers course will provide engineers and technical professionals with the soft and interpersonal skills needed to be successful in their career.

  • Schedule: This course commences at 9:30 AM and ends at 6 PM with breaks scheduled throughout.

Course 2:  Managing Others in Times of Change

Reduce the impact of accelerated change on agile engineering teams with ASME’s Managing Others in Times of Change Professional Development course.  This course helps engineers and technical managers excel by supporting them with skills to influence and inspire others and address the common leadership challenges of today’s workplace.

  • Schedule: This course commences at 9:30 AM and ends at 6 PM with breaks scheduled throughout.

Who should attend?
This course is essential for engineers, project managers for engineering projects, and engineering managers of teams.  Whether you are a seasoned engineering professional, mid-career or new to the workforce, these essential workplace skills will strengthen your career and the output of your team.

Please visit the individual course descriptions for detailed information.
This ASME Virtual Classroom course is held live with an instructor on our online learning platform.  Certificate of completion will be issued to registrants who successfully attend and complete the course.
