Venue/Travel - About San Francisco

San Francisco is a postcard-perfect city with its legendary hills facing a calm bay, eclectic mix of Victorian and modern architecture, excellent restaurants, vibrant arts scene and outdoor recreation. Why not stay a few days before and after IOWTC 2018 and explore this fabulous city and its beautiful surrounding areas.

San Francisco's top attractions include Fisherman's Wharf, Pier 39, Ghirardelli Square, Alcatraz Island, cable cars, Chinatown, Lombard Street, and the Golden Gate Park.

Golden Gate Bridge

No visit to San Francisco would be complete without a stop at the park near the Golden Gate Bridge. Not only can you marvel at the beautiful art-deco style, massive 746-foot-tall towers, and sweeping cables, but you can also participate in many activities around the bridge. Visit the outdoor exhibits sharing the history, science and engineering behind the Bridge’s construction, rent a bike at a nearby shop or take a free walking tour offered by San Francisco City Guides, enjoy a snack at the nearby cafĂ©, or hike the picturesque trails of the Golden Gate National Recreation Area (access at both ends of the bridge).

For more information about the bridge and things to do in the surrounding area, visit Golden Gate Bridge website or the Golden Gate National Parks Conservancy.

Sample fabulous Californian wines at one of many of San Francisco’s local tasting rooms, or take advantage of the proximity to California's Wine Country and visit Napa Valley, only an hour's drive from the city. The scenic towns of Carmel and Monterey on the Pacific-coast highway are accessible in less than two hours.

If you consider staying in San Francisco for couple of extra days, consider purchasing the San Francisco City Pass that allows you to enjoy more of the city attractions.
