Program - Social and Networking Activities

 

Breakfast Refreshments

Daily: 8:00am – 8:30am
Prior to the start of the morning plenary each day, please meet in the registration area where you can network with fellow attendees and enjoy lite pastries and coffee.

Coffee Breaks

Daily: 9:30am – 10:00am and 3:30pm – 4:00pm
Morning and afternoon coffee breaks are scheduled daily in the Registration Area. Coffee, tea, lemonade, iced tea and light snacks will be served.

Conference Banquet

Thursday: 6:30pm – 9:30pm
The conference banquet will recognize the exceptional achievements and dedication of the numerous leaders within the Dynamic Systems and Control community. Award Presentations include: Paynter Outstanding Investigator Award, Michael J. Rabins Leadership Award, Charles Stark Draper Innovative Practice Award, and the Rudolf E. Kalman Best Paper Award. The Nyquist Lecturer and plenary speakers will be acknowledged. The Student Best Paper finalists will be introduced and the winner will be announced. The award ceremony will be concluded by the presentation and acceptance of the ASME Rufus Oldenburger Medal.

Conference Luncheon

Wednesday: 12:00pm – 1:30pm
This year's conference program includes one group lunch and is scheduled for Wednesday. On Thursday and Friday, attendees will be given a break from 12:00pm – 1:30pm where you will have the opportunity to explore the hotel and surrounding areas.

If you are pressed for time, or don't feel like venturing too far from the hotel, the Sheratons "Market Place" offers a variety of sandwiches, salads and pizzas for lunch. The outlet also includes a full menu of options for dinner and late night snacks.

General Meeting - DSC Division

Wednesday: 7:00pm – 10:00pm
Take part in the annual – DSCD "general meeting". Hear updates and announcements from the division's leadership. Learn about this year's activities and success stories as well as new ideas and plans for the future. This is your chance to ask questions and provide feedback about your participation in this community.

Student Career Advising / Networking Event

Thursday: 12:00pm – 1:30pm
The 2017 ASME Dynamic Systems and Control Conference is providing an opportunity for student attendees to receive career advice from professionals working in industry, academia, and government. Attendance by students is highly encouraged and those who have *pre-registered (by October 1st) will have priority seating in this event. *Email was sent to all student attendees on September 1st including an invitation to participate and a link to RSVP.

Welcome Reception

Tuesday: 5:30pm – 7:00pm
Start this year's conference off right! Enjoy reconnecting with your friends and colleagues over cocktails and hors d'oeuvres and take this opportunity to also meet with this year's organizers and sponsors.
