In the recent years, carbon nanotubes have become a key ingredient in advanced manufacturing processes. Carbon nanotubes, however, are potentially harmful and have raised concerns because of their environmental impact. Desiree Plata, a civil and environmental engineering professor at Duke University, has designed a research experiment that aims to improve the manufacturability of carbon nanotubes and minimize their environmental impact.
