“Wind Turbines Reach for the Sky”: Webinar on Wind Power in the ASME Energy Forum

NEW YORK, July 22, 2013 – A webinar on wind power, in which two experts in the field will discuss topics ranging from new technology to the challenges associated with siting new facilities in national energy markets, will take place on July 25, 2013, on the ASME Energy Forum.

The webinar, titled Wind Turbines Reach for the Sky, is the fourth in a yearlong multi-media series in the ASME Energy Forum, which explores renewable and alternative energy sources and their related technologies.  Free registration is available at go.asme.org/EnergyForum.

The moderated webinar, beginning at 2:00 p.m., will be a one-hour information exchange in which the speakers – Neils Schmitt, manager of Wind Application Engineering at GE Energy, and Scott Rowland, vice president of Engineering at Goldwind USA – will review advanced technologies for wind turbine generators, the engineering challenges of harnessing and delivering wind energy, and role of wind power in the national energy landscape.

In addition to webinars, the ASME Energy Forum encompasses other forms of media: podcasts, videos, tutorials and articles.  Leaders in the energy field offer insights on topics ranging from hydrokinetics to solar power.  The next two webinar topics scheduled for this year include fuel cells and hydraulic fracturing.
