Jay Mezher, director of virtual design and construction for global engineering firm Parsons Brinckerhoff, discusses the development and use of CAVE, a computer analysis and visualization environment technology platform, in infrastructure planning, design, and information management. CAVE's visual computing environment integrates digital project information using a combination that includes 3-D modeling, scheduling, real-time visualization and virtual reality. CAVE leverages Building Information Modeling (BIM) to accommodate questions and needs of all project stakeholders, including owners, designers, and contractors.
