ASME Participates in Workshop on Water and Sanitation Systems in India

On June 26-27, 2018, ASME was among many organizations participating in the U.S.-India Standards and Conformance Cooperation Project (SCCP), Phase II Workshop in New Delhi, India. The theme of this event was Workshop on Water and Sanitation Systems in India: Leveraging Standards for Infrastructure Improvement, and was sponsored by U.S. Trade and Development Agency (USTDA) and coordinated by the American National Standards Institute (ANSI) in partnership with the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII).

The purpose of the SCCP Phase II Workshop was to learn about technology and standard practices used in the U.S. and apply that knowledge toward improving access to safe water and improved sanitation in India.

Angel Guzman, ASME Standards and Certification Project Engineer, was a representative at the workshop presenting an introduction to ASME standards development and an overview of the ASME A112 series of standards on plumbing materials and equipment, and their role in the U.S. plumbing industry.
