Special Issue of ASME Journal to Explore Novel and Emergent Personalized Cardiovascular Medicine

The ASME Journal of Engineering and Science in Medical Diagnostics and Therapy is currently accepting manuscripts for a special issue that will cover novel and emergent personalized cardiovascular medicine. The deadline for submitting a paper for the special issue, which is expected to be published in November 2019, is March 1, 2019.

The field of personalized cardiovascular medicine is advancing at rapid speed, with engineering playing a key role in the development of solutions for cardiovascular conditions in the form of medical devices or therapeutic interventions. Engineering also enables the development of new faster and better means to study cardiovascular diseases and conditions, interpret them and analyze them.

This special issue of the ASME Journal of Engineering and Science in Medical Diagnostics and Therapy will focus on truly new and emergent approaches with transformative potential in patient-specific treatment.

The guest editors for the issue are seeking well-argued and developed methodological papers with good and solid pilot data or well-designed proof-of-concept studies that will be of interest to both cardiovascular researchers as well as members of industry who are looking for advanced and groundbreaking tools to inform their own R&D programs. Topics to be covered in the special issue will include cardiovascular medicine, medical devices, and therapeutic interventions.

The editors for this special issue are Dr. Vanessa Diaz-Zuccarini, Department of Mechanical Engineering, University College London, England, UK, v.diaz@ucl.ac.uk; Dr. Stavroula Balabani, Department of Mechanical Engineering, University College London, England, UK, s.balabani@ucl.ac.uk; Dr. Andrew Narracott, Department of Infection, Immunity & Cardiovascular Disease, University of Sheffield, England, UK, a.j.narracott@sheffield.ac.uk; and Dr. John W. Fenner, Department of Infection, Immunity & Cardiovascular Disease, University of Sheffield, England, UK, j.w.fenner@sheffield.ac.uk.

Manuscripts should be submitted to the ASME Journal of Engineering and Science in Medical Diagnostics and Therapy by March 1, 2019, through ASME Journals Connect. Authors who already have an account should log in as an author and select “Submit Paper” at the bottom of the page. Authors who don’t have an account should select “Submit Paper” and follow the step-by-step instructions. Authors should then choose ASME Journal of Engineering and Science in Medical Diagnostics and Therapy when they reach the “Paper Submittal” page and select the special issue “Novel and Emergent Personalized Cardiovascular Medicine.” Papers received after the deadline or those that are not selected for inclusion in the special issue may be accepted for publication in a regular issue of the journal.
