ASME Turbo Expo 2012 To Be Held In Copenhagen, Denmark

NEW YORK, Sept. 1, 2011 – ASME Turbo Expo 2012 will address global energy challenges when the event convenes June 11-15, 2012, at the Bella Center in Copenhagen, Denmark.

ASME Turbo Expo – Turbine Technical Conference and Exposition will bring together engineers, research scientists, educators and other professionals involved in the design, operation, and maintenance of stationary gas turbines and aero-engines.  Combining a technical program and exhibit, ASME Turbo Expo 2012 will cover engine design, materials, fans and blowers, cogeneration, combustion diagnostics, and micro-turbines, among other topics.

The technical program also will include presentations on wind turbines, solar energy, steam turbines, and supercritical CO2 power cycles. Presentations will focus on the latest advances in research, experimentation, and system applications.

The three-day exposition at Turbo Expo will showcase the products and services of engine manufacturers, software developers, research laboratories, and other firms in the worldwide power industry.  Other events will include the keynote session, facility tours, continuing education workshops, the Women Working in Turbomachinery dinner, and a networking reception for early career engineers.

The leadership team responsible for the organization of Turbo Expo 2012 include Lennart Nilsson, Siemens Gas Turbine Systems (executive conference chair); Karen Thole, Ph.D., Pennsylvania State University (conference chair); Jaroslaw Szwedowicz, Ph.D., Alstom (technical program chair); Claus Moeller, Siemens A/S Energy Sector (local liaison committee chair); and Seung Jin Song, Ph.D., Seoul National University (review chair).
