ASME Congressional Fellowship Applications Are Due Jan. 31

ASME members who are interested in applying for one of the three 2019-2020 ASME Congressional Fellowship opportunities that are being offered through the ASME Federal Government Fellowship Program have until Jan. 31, 2019, to submit an application.

Since 1973, ASME has sponsored 125 Federal Fellows, providing them with an opportunity to serve a one-year term in the administration or U.S. Congress. Fellows serve as independent, non-biased advisors in engineering, science and technology, bringing a nonpartisan, pragmatic approach to analysis and input that has a profound impact on the decision making process. The result is effective and technologically appropriate public policy based on sound engineering principles.

Applicants for the 2019-2020 Fellowships should have a strong background in one of the following areas: energy, bioengineering or advanced manufacturing. All Fellowship applicants must be citizens of the United States and ASME members at the time of application. In addition, the following credentials are encouraged: at least five years of professional experience; an advanced engineering degree; professional engineer registration; and public policy experience. Sponsors of the 2019-2020 ASME Congressional Fellowships include ASME Government Relations, the ASME Foundation, the ASME Petroleum Division and the ASME Bioengineering Division.
