ASME MasterClass Training Event to be Offered in Barcelona This October

Aug. 5, 2016

ASME Training & Development will offer its MasterClass Training Week on Pressure Vessels, Piping and Pipelines for the first time in Barcelona, Spain, this October. The training event courses, taught by prominent experts and ASME codes and standards leaders, will be held from Oct. 17 to 21 at the Meliá Barcelona Sarrià.

ASME MasterClass courses are practical training sessions for experienced professionals that emphasize learning through the discussion of real-world case studies and practical applications. MasterClass instructors lead in-depth sessions that address current issues and best practices to inspire interactive discussions and group knowledge-sharing.

The Pressure Vessels, Piping and Pipelines MasterClass Training Week in Barcelona will consist of 19 courses, including six that will be held on Oct. 17 and 18: “Advanced Application of ASME Boiler and Pressure Vessel Code Section VIII, Division 1 Construction Requirements,” “Bases and Application of Design Requirements for High Pressure Vessels in ASME Code Section VIII, Division 3,” “Bases and Application of Piping Flexibility Analysis to ASME B31 Codes,” “Integrity Management of Natural Gas Pipelines Using the ASME B31.8S Standard,” “Pipeline Stress Corrosion Cracking Management,” and “Techniques and Methods Used in API 579-1/ASME FFS-1 for Advanced Fitness-For-Service (FFS) Assessments.”

Other MasterClasses to be offered during the Training Week event include “B31.4 & B31.8, Liquids and Gas Pipelines” from Oct. 17-19; “Run-or-Repair Operability Decisions for Pressure Equipment and Piping Systems” from Oct. 18-19; “Impact Testing and Toughness Requirements for Pressure Vessels — ASME Section VIII, Divisions 1 & 2” on Oct. 19; “Bolted Joint Assembly Principles Per PCC-1-2013,” “Design by Analysis Requirements in ASME Boiler and Pressure Vessel Code Section VIII, Division 2 — Alternative Rules,” “Inline Inspections for Pipelines,” “Pipeline Defect Assessment,” “Pipeline Integrity Issues, Mitigation, Prevention and Repair Using the ASME B31.8S Standard,” and “Piping Vibration Causes and Remedies — A Practical Approach” on Oct. 19 and 20.

Rounding out the Training Week schedule will be “Materials and Design for High Temperatures” and “Integrity Assessment and Repair of Process Piping and Tanks” on Oct. 20 and 21, and “Piping Failures — Causes and Prevention” and “Fatigue Analysis Requirements in ASME BPV Code Section VIII, Division 2 — Alternative Rules” on Oct. 21.

In addition to the event in Barcelona, ASME Training & Development will also offer a Pressure Technology and Standards MasterClass Training Week two weeks later in Houston, Texas. That event, which was announced in a previous ASME News article, will take place from Oct. 31 to Nov. 4.
