Description

Instructors

This AIChE course presents common problem-solving strategies using spreadsheets.  Topics include table-based operations, flowsheeting, introduction to macros and Visual Basic for Applications (VBA), solving algebraic and differential equations, preparing spreadsheets for others to use, applied statistics including regression analysis, and optimization.

This well-proven course has been taught over 100 times.  Frequent comments from engineers, after taking the course have been, “I thought I knew how to use spreadsheets before I took this course.” and “Why didn’t I take this course a year ago?

You will learn:
 - How to solve many engineering problems faster and more accurately using spreadsheets
 - How to solve algebraic and differential equations and to analyze data using methods of applied statistics
 - How to prepare flowsheets and material balances on spreadsheets
 - How to optimize flowsheets and equipment design
