This course provides the knowledge and handling of welding under the ASME B&PV Section IX Code for welding and brazing.  It imparts the information relating to Code items for welding, followed by examples.  At the end of the course, each attendee will be able to prepare a WPS/ PQR, and WPQ, in accordance with the Section IX Code for welding requirements. Each attendee will receive a copy of the ASME BPV&C Section IX Welding & Brazing Qualifications codebook.

This course is presented in German (using English course material)

Franz Ziegler, Dipl.-Ing.(FH), an expert engineer at TÜV SÜD Industry Service GmbH, is an inspector for pressure vessels and steam boilers. He has more than 28 years of experience in design approval and analysis of technical installations and components (e.g. boilers, vessels, pipes, pumps and valves), specifically, in reference to materials, manufacturing process, quality assurance, and welding technologies.

Mr. Ziegler is an ASME Authorized Inspector (AI), and consults for a number of German vessel and boiler manufacturers. Since 1988, he has been an active member of the German Association of Welding (DVS); for which he conducts welding performance qualifications, in accordance with European regulations. Mr. Ziegler regularly provides welding-specific training and education courses. He has encouraged many engineers and experts to become qualified in all fields of welding technology.
