The primary goal of this course is to provide insight into the materials, fabrication, and overview requirements relating to the ASME B31.1 Power Piping Code.

You Will Learn To
- Describe the materials selection process and limitations
- Describe how property changes may occur in materials in response to fabrication processes such as welding, heat treatment, and bending & forming
- Identify fabrication rules and their bases
- Identify the inspection, examination, and testing requirements
- Explain how to apply the rules for operation and maintenance
- Identify current and anticipated QC requirements

Instructors

Philip D. Flenner, P.E., is a senior welding consultant and founding member of Flenner Engineering Services, LLC. He has over 40 years of experience in welding qualifications and training, engineering training, power plant repair methods, quality control and performance assessment, nuclear dry fuel storage, and codes and standards.

He is a member of the ASME B31 Code for Pressure Piping Main Committee, the B31.1 Power Piping Section Committee, the B31.3 Process Piping Committee, and the ASME Section IX Committee on Welding, Brazing, and Fusing Qualifications, as well as other working subgroups and working groups.
