An Aircraft Revolution on the Horizon

Voith Schneider Propellers give tugboats the ability to haul heavy freight and also spin on a dime. Inventor Meinhard Schwaiger has found a way to use the same principal on an aircraft. Aerospace & Defense are the closely coupled science and engineering disciplines that develop commercial and military aircraft and spacecraft. In 2011, the U.S. Department of Defense added cyberwarfare to its missions. Traditionally “defense” includes equipment, support, and communication systems for land warfare plus surface warships and submarines. U.S. Defense spending was nearly $700 billion in 2010, 5% of the nation’s economy and 43% of the global defense total.
